Two song 7″ from 2019, just 42 years after their debut EP, “How Much Longer/You Bastard.” I listened to “You Bastard” seemingly every day of my life from the age of 21 – 25, it felt appropriately irritated and sharp for those years. These two songs, “Walls” and “Hollow Stream” have a remarkable resonance today, the same way that single rang for me then. There’s a lot of momentum, with rhythms that pull and wash, but always invaded by a profound sense of unbalance. “The walls that surround us/they always stay the same” intones Mark Perry, without any of the spitting or sneer of “You Bastard” but all of the accusation.
Clear vinyl, lathe cut, limited to 100 copies.
