Short-lived Washington D.C. band Meltdown created intricate, challenging, and bewildering music using three guitars, drums, and voices. A lengthy interview with the band members can be found HERE and the entire record is available for streaming/free download HERE.
“The Map” was originally issued by Portland label Archigramophone in 2000 and housed in a letterpressed, silkscreened jacket. As is often the case, the pressing plant shipped more LPs than the 500 copies ordered by the label, leaving a small batch of LPs without covers. These coverless LPs were recently discovered in a bedroom closet, and new covers hand silkscreened onto irresponsibly delicate Japanese paper. Half these copies were sent to the band members, the other half are available for sale here.
