Description
Askild Haugland of Norway has been making improvised music since the 1980s, primarily for electric guitar. These two improvisations, recorded 2019, are hypnotic, serpentine works. Unprocessed, undistorted single-note melodies constrict and tangle with the inevitability of kudzu. There’s a timelessness to this music – this kind of focused, tuneful exploration connects to many eras, and yet there’s nothing quite like the persistent, intimate playing of Haugland.
Lathe cut, edition of 30. Clear vinyl.
