The best description I ever read of a record was a review of that Bob Ostertag record that’s an edited field recording of a boy in El Salvador burying his father. It reads “listening to this piece is like embracing someone who has no skin, as if the boy was a bare mass of nerves and guts and blood, which stain your own clothes when you touch him.” This tape collects 16 rap songs recorded between 2010-2016 which approach the same feeling. Like I’ve listened to Ab Soul’s “Book of Souls” exactly twice in my life and still remember all the words it burns so fiercely. All proceeds donated to CRITICAL RESISTANCE it was supposed to be sliding scale but I can’t figure out how to do it on this website. If you want to give more or less please email (jabsrecords@gmail) and we’ll figure it out.
