Description
Incredibly crude, leaden, first band stomp. Point of No Return were a Dutch straightedge band who recorded this demo in 1990. They play like they’re incapable of unclenching their fists, just the most bludgeoning, un-agile approach I can think of. The label compares Point of No Return to Project X but honestly that band sounds like Megadeth compared to this. Halfway through the song “Limbo Wolfpack” the guitar drops out, the bass and drums plod along, and then the singer yells “Go!!” and the riff comes back in at THE EXACT SAME SPEED. Just total cave dweller hardcore from a town in the Netherlands whose main musical identity is as host of the Wereld Muziek Concours, an international competition for military bands held every four years. 3/4th of Point of No Return went on to play in Feed the Fire, a tremendously dynamic hardcore band with excellent politics who made a few records in the 90s. This is the first time Point of No Return’s music has been issued on vinyl.
